FBI is shutting down internet for dns changer malware servers on July 9th and you may permanently loose your internet access.

You will probably loose your access to the internet on 9th July (forever) and this is no scam no spam or rumors . It's the truth .

Ok so here it is :- Nearly 4 Millions computers are affected by a dangerous malware "DNS Changer Worm" all around the globe. This malware in your computer is controlling the domain name servings for your computer. FBI busted this very operation last year . Millions of system were infected by then. So, the FBI took a decision to run the DNS Changer Servers themselves and guide the systems to correct paths. Now they have changed the idea and has said that they would switch the servers off, for ever on July 9th

An Easy Explanation for Non-Techies

In general your computer asks for the address of the webpage you want to visit , to the big computer. Suppose www.computersaviez.blogspot.com if we type this in the url bar, our computer will ask the big computer "where does computersaviez.blogspot.com live ?". Then the big computer will reply that it lives in a server address of 98.43.342.55 (in computer term it would be like server 4 at Blogspot Headquarter, Delhi, India). Now our system would go to the told place and get computersaviez pages. This seems hell lot of work right? But in computer it is done in seconds , but if your computer is infected with the DNS changer, your system will not be able to ask the big computer for address andinstead ask the hackers (DNS Changer's owner/maker/creator) computer for computersaviez's addess.  The hacker  would then send a wrong address back to us. Now, our computer will follow that address and go to computersaviez's pages that was designed by the hacker to steal your info/ This was a very smal example of what they can do with this malware. Imagine if it happens with your bank websites too. All your money will be transacted to the bank of the hacker.

What's the Cure for this ?

Follow the simple steps to save your access to the internet after 9th july First of all, check if your system is infected by the DNS Changer Worm . Go to http://www.dns-ok.us/ and run the check. If they show your computer is infected then you should worry about it . But never forget you are check my blog Computersaviez, so let's check it manually because the websites are not always true. so best is if you run a manual test.

Manual check for DNS Changer Worm
Open command prompt  or click on start left bottom and type cmd

After you see the command prompt window, type in the following command ipconfig/allcompartments/all

Now find what DNS you are using

Now don't be worried when you see the number 8.3.4.2&1.4.2.4 on your screen. Just note those two numbers and tally them with the list below :-

IP Range of Rove DNS Settings:

85.255.112.0-85.255.127.255
67.210.0.0-67.210.15.255
93.188.160.0-93.188.167.255
77.67.83.0-77.67.83.255
213.109.64.0-213.109.79.255
4.28.176.0-64.28.191.255

If the number above you found match with these, then you are affected with the worm

Follow these steps in order to ensure you don't loose your internet access on July 9th
Some preventive measure:

1. The first thing to do is backup all your important files. You might go to a computer store or shop online for a portable hard drive and copy all of your files onto that drive.
2. Either you or a computer professional or even your friend upon whom you rely should follow the "self help" malware clean up guides listed below. The goal is to remove the malware and recover your PC from the control of the  criminals that distributed it. If you were already thinking of upgrading to a new computer, now may be a good time and good reason to buy a new computer.
3. Once you have a clean PC, follow instructions for  ensuring that your DNS settings are correct. If you're nit using a new PC, you'll want to check that your computer's DNS settings are not still using the DNS changer DNS servers. Go to http://opendns.com/dns-changer and check out the instructions given in there because they are quite good if you want to manually set your DNS settings. You also have the option to return to using your ISP-provided automatic settings by choosing the "automatically" option (windows) or deleting the DNS Servers listed (Mac OS).
4. After you have fixed you computer, you would want to look at any home router you're using and make sure they automatically use DNS settings provided by the ISP. 
5. Changing DNS is only one  of the functions of the malware kits. The malware could have been used for capturing keystrokes or actions as a proxy for traffic to sensitive sites like banks accounts or social media. It would be a good idea to check your ban account and credit card transactions and as well as change your bank account password but after the clean up and clear all the saved passwords in your browser. 

Now At last run a full pc scan and check for anymore viruses and restart your pc and again check fir the worm. It should be gone.
